At vic7767, once your Roomba CHM or Brush Deck is shipped to me, it will be inspected and you will be contacted if there is a reason the modification cannot be accomplished.

 

The Ball Bearing modification is done by hand using the best tools available.

 

 

To ensure optimal operation of your Brush Deck, I offer:

  • Comprehensive and competent advice, before and after your purchase
  • Dis-assembly and re-assembly of the Brush Deck
  • Installation and testing of the Ball Bearing Modification
  • Replacement service if a Ball Bearing Fails within 90 days

The modification fee is $40, the 3 Sealed Ball Bearings are $25 and return shipping is $8 USPS.  Total cost will be $65 plus shipping.

Inside your Roomba CHM or Brush Deck

Depending upon the environment that your 5XX/6XX model Roomba is attempting to clean, over a period of time the inside of the Cleaning Head Module will fill with debris.  Once enough debris has collected inside the CHM brush gears they will become very hard to turn or might even stop turning completely.  Once that situation occurs your Roomba will begin complaining by playing the voice message "Please inspect and clean Roombas brushes".  You will remove your brushes and clean them over and over but the condition is not resolved since the real issue is INSIDE the brush gear assembly.  Once the ball bearings are incorporated into the brush gear assembly no more debris will be able to enter and your Roomba will no longer complain about dirty brushes.

9 Beep Error Bumper sensor mod

If your model 500 Roomba is mis-behaving after bumping into things then stopping with the 9 beep error it may be due to a defective IR emitting diode within the bumper sensor assembly.  If so and you're handy with tools you can dis-assemble your Roomba and replace the complete cliff/bumper assembly with a better IR emitter diode and IR receiver diode already installed into both bumper sensor assemblies.  Paypal me $88 which includes USPS shipping to:
